I'm a New York-based curricular designer and strategist.

Harvard-trained ethicist; philosophy Ph.D.
I hold degrees in philosophy from Harvard and Georgetown, where I studied and wrote on abstract problems in moral philosophy and concrete issues in bioethics and the ethics of novel technologies. This scholarship informs my day-to-day work as a course strategist, collaborating with faculty to help students explore and internalize ideas in new ways.
I bring years of experience in graphic, digital, and identity design to my work.
I bring years of experience in graphic, digital, and identity design to my work.
A decade of freelance graphic and digital design, an apprenticeship in experience design, and three years of agency and in-house work in brand strategy, communications, and storytelling mean I always bring some right-brained thinking to left-brained work.
In 2013, I began a series of projects at Georgetown that involved the deliberate interface of design and ethics, including designing the user experience of the world's first massive open online course (MOOC) in bioethics, serving as a curricular advisor and project mentor for a series of experimental ethics courses and workshops drawing methods from design practice, and co-founding the world's first innovation lab focused on specifically ethical challenges: Ethics Lab.
As a course strategist at 2U, I work with faculty around the country to unpack and reimagine their teaching and learning for the digital setting. I am a passionate believer in 2U's mission to make world-class education accessible to a whole new cohort of remote, adult, and working learners. As a first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand the transformative power of education — and the challenges that nontraditional students can face in accessing it. Each day, I get to bring a designer's mindset to an ever-changing set of challenges on the front lines of higher education, with the goal of democratizing access to this essential, transformative good.
Whether you're interested in collaborating on an ethics or education project, or looking for a freelance designer for a digital, graphic, or identity design project, I'm easy to reach. I'm currently based in NY but have consulted and worked remotely on a variety of projects.
